Árpád Forgó (Budapest, HU)
Árpád Forgó betrachtet seine Arbeiten als Experimente, angetrieben von seiner Neugier auf Wahrnehmung, Raum und Körper. Er strebt nach Einfachheit und formaler Reduktion und verwendet geometrische Prozesse wie Spiegelung, Rotation und Verschiebung, bei denen variable rhythmische Strukturen und Verspieltheit auftreten können. Der ungarische Künstler hinterfragt, wie wir die physischen Aspekte des Raums betrachten, wahrnehmen und offenbaren.
In der Tradition der ungarischen Neo-Avantgarde formt Árpád Forgó Leinwände zu visuell verführerischen, subtilen Werken, greift dabei das Erbe der europäischen Abstraktion auf und entwickelt es durch seine eigenen geometrischen Methoden weiter. Seine akribisch geformten Leinwände sind aus einem vordefinierten modularen System aufgebaut, das den Rhythmus der ebenen und räumlichen Beziehungen betont. Jedes Modul wird auf seine Grundelemente – Form und Farbe – zu einer einzigartigen dimensionalen Konstruktion reduziert, die die dem Material innewohnende Integrität und Schönheit bewahrt.
